The Word for Less office had been kicking around the idea of a pizza party for a few weeks now. You might think that everyone would have leaped at the first chance to eat pizza in the office, but in the end, we were glad we waited as long as we did.

The devastating March 22nd mudslide in Oso, Washington, continues to weigh heavily on local residents, and people throughout the state have stepped up to help the rescue efforts, which are still ongoing. When we learned that Papa John’s Pizza franchises in Washington were going to donate all proceeds from their sales on Thursday, April 3rd, to the Salvation Army’s Disaster Relief Fund, we knew the date for our pizza party was set.

Below are some photos from our pizza party for a good cause. If you missed out on ordering pizza from a Washington-based Papa John’s franchise yesterday, you can still donate to the relief efforts by visiting the Salvation Army’s Oso Mudslides page. We hope everyone keeps the families, individuals, and first-responders affected by the recent mudslides in their thoughts and prayers during the road to recovery.

Originally was supposed to take photos of the pizza before I bit into one. But then I got hungry.

No one wanted their photos taken while eating pizza, so here's my selfless selfie.

Tawny looks on disapprovingly of my pizza selfie.

Thanks, Papa!

Thanks, Papa!
